Down Syndrome Clinic

Children with Down Syndrome (Trisomy 21) often are affected by ear, nose and throat problems that need to be evaluated or treated by a specialist.

Connecticut Children’s pediatric specialists treat and prevent ear, nose and throat problems affecting children with Down Syndrome, including hearing impairment, speech and swallowing disorders.

Our Services

We provide surgical services as needed including:

• Ear tubes
• Complex ear surgery
• Bone-anchored hearing aid (Baha)
• Tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy
• Airway evaluation

We can also help with rehabilitation related to hearing loss, speech, and swallowing disorders:

• Hearing aids
• Swim molds
• Speech and feeding therapy
