Hartford, CT – Connecticut Children’s is proud to announce the opening of its first Urgent Care location at 599 Farmington Ave, 2nd floor, in Farmington, CT. Connecticut Children’s Urgent Care provides full-service after-hours and weekend care for infants, children and young adults up to age 26 and now has flu shots available! Families can save their spot online, call ahead or just walk in to protect their child from the flu this holiday season.
“Our team of physicians and staff are thrilled to provide quality care with less waiting to the families of Farmington Valley and beyond. It has become increasingly clear to us that pediatric patients need access to specialized care when their primary care provider is not available, in the after-hours and on weekends,” said Dr. Glenn Focht, president, Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group. “Connecticut Children’s Urgent Care creates a continuum of care, supplementing the hours of local pediatric offices, providing an affordable alternative to the emergency room and connecting families to more than 30 subspecialties across our health system.”
All services are provided by board-certified pediatric specialists, meaning children will receive hospital-grade pediatric care, minus the hospital. Not only is the setting kid-friendly, Connecticut Children’s Urgent Care was designed with safety top of mind and cutting-edge tech tools for the best parent experience. Connecticut Children’s Urgent Care offers “Save Your Spot” convenience and MyChart features like 24/7 access to a child’s health records. Next-day appointments are guaranteed with most specialties, including via Video Visit when appropriate. Connecticut Children’s is also a trusted partner for pediatric practices across the region. There is no other pediatric urgent care in the state currently offering this level of pediatric expertise and connection.
“The new location will offer convenient access for our patients and their families, and we are happy to have the opportunity to provide care and an industry-best patient experience when the pediatrician’s office is closed,” said Lynn Peluso, RN, BSN, MBA, Director of Clinical Operations for Connecticut Children’s Urgent Care. “Our physicians see everything from earaches and tummy aches to fevers, rashes and colds and the flu. It’s the same cost as a regular office visit.” This full-service care also includes X-rays, tests and labs.
