HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare are working together to make vaccines conveniently available to everyone 12 to 15 years old. Adolescents in that age-group are now eligible for the vaccine, following approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare recently formed a Pediatric Care Alliance to provide the children and families of Connecticut with the highest level of coordinated medical care.

“Making the vaccination of our 12 to 15 years old is an important priority for us. By offering a quick, easy and seamless experience through our Care Alliance with Hartford HealthCare we are doing our part to end this global pandemic,” said Jim Shmerling, DHA, FACHE, President and CEO, Connecticut Children’s. “This is the Care Alliance in action. Hartford HealthCare knows vaccines. We know children. We all have an obligation to keep our children safe and healthy.”

“We are proud to work with Connecticut’s leader in pediatric care and make our vaccines and clinics available to adolescents statewide,” said Jeffrey A. Flaks, President and CEO, Hartford HealthCare. “Through our Hartford HealthCare clinics, we have provided nearly a half-million doses of vaccine so far, and we are ready and eager to help parents and their age-appropriate children take this important step.”
