Jessica J. Stephens, DO, is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at Connecticut Children’s. Dr. Stephens’ clinical and research interests include integrated care, early childhood mental health, trauma & toxic stress, behavioral interventions, physician wellbeing, and medical education. She has been a dynamic committee member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) serving as a Member of Council (2022-2024) and Co-Chair of the Medical Student and Resident Committee (2023-2024). Dr. Stephens has been invited to present nationally on trainee education and physician wellbeing.
Dr. Stephens graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2015 with a BS in Biology and minor in Physical Education. She earned her Osteopathic medical degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019. She completed her combined General/Child & Adolescent Psychiatry residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in 2024. Dr. Stephens was chosen as the Chief Resident for Education (2023-2024) and Co-Chair of the Academic Administrator Clinician Educator (AACE) track at UPMC from 2022-2024. During her residency training, Dr. Stephens served as a Vice President of House Staff Leadership (2020-2021), a spoke for her residency program’s wellbeing committee (2020-2024), and an active steering committee member for the program’s diversity, equity, and inclusion curriculum.
In her free time, Dr. Stephens enjoys cycling, volleyball, baking, and spending time with her family & friends.
