What does the Board do? The board advises and provides direct family contact with all departments in the hospital that seek to improve the patient and family experience at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. We advise on policy, review documentation, and provide an external voice in the decision making processes while giving a family perspective.
Why do I want to be part of the Family Advisory Board Parents want to be a part of the FAB because it feels good to be volunteering in a role that effects so much of the workings of the hospital. This is an opportunity to have your voice make a real impact on such an important part of our community. It can be very empowering to be part of a group that is working together to make such critical medical services better, stronger, and more patient and family centered. YOUR IDEAS, CONCERNS AND FEEDBACK MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Who's on the board? The board consists of parents and staff that have experiences throughout the hospital system. This encompasses the inpatient units, the outpatient specialists, the emergency department, the NICU and PICU, and any other department that treats children and their families.
